  • PBS & Michigan Learning Channel's Summer of Fun Program
    Grades: Current Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade

    Keep students engaged in learning over the summer. The Michigan Learning Channel’s 8-week summer program has everything kids need to continue building their brains and learning key concepts that will help them succeed in school. Grades preschool to 6th grade, have 2-3 hours of video lessons per week (broadcast television or on demand), plus a fun and interactive activity book. Local events and special broadcasts help pique kids’ interest. Each building will have a limited number of activity books available for interested families (also downloadable for at-home printing) beginning the last week of school in their main office.   • Kids Read Now
    Grade: Rising into 1st grade

    BAS is providing all students rising into 1st grade the opportunity to participate in Kids Read Now. This program provides books for students to read during the summer and also includes reading tips, guiding questions, and activities for families. More information will follow from our elementary buildings.
  • Summer School
    Grades: 9th through 12th grade

    Options include online Michigan Virtual Essentials (for credit recovery) and online Michigan Virtual Plus (for new credit). Contact Colleen Deaven at deavenc@brightonk12.com for additional information.
  • Virtual Math Tutoring
    Grades: Rising into 6th through 9th grade*

    A new virtual opportunity for targeted students to receive math tutoring over the summer. Students are placed into small groups or one-on-one sessions based on assessment data and participate in online learning with a live teacher. Families can choose days & times that work best for their schedules with 30 minutes per session focused on student needs. Invites have been sent by email to families of qualifying students.
  • Virtual Reading Tutoring
    Grades: Rising into 4th through 9th grade**

    An opportunity for targeted students to receive ELA tutoring during the summer. Students are placed in modules based on assessment data and participate in a virtual tutoring program with a live online teacher focusing on vocabulary and languageinstruction inside of novels. Students participate in engaging tutoring sessions (30 minutes each) 3 days per week, ranging from foundational phonics skills development to fiction and non-fiction reading comprehension. Invites have been sent by email to families of qualifying students.

  • Kick Start Camp
    Grades: Rising into 1st through 8th grade*

    Designed to excite students and kick start the new school year, learning includes lessons in reading, writing, math, and STEAM. Qualifying students will engage in intentional and high-quality academic adventures to gain needed skills and confidence for their next grade level. Invites have been sent by email to families of qualifying students.
  • Literacy Lab
    Grades: Rising into 1st through 3rd grade**

    Literacy Lab is a 4-week (3 days/week, Tues -Thurs) literacy and STEAM learning lab. Targeted students will receive intensive literacy support over the summer. Learning will focus on foundational reading skills integrated into hands-on, engaging STEAM explorations. Students will have the opportunity for small group learning basedon their specific needs and then apply those skills during STEAM investigations. Invites have been sent by email to families of qualifying students.
  • Math Lab
    Grades: Rising into 4th through 7th grade***

    A new opportunity for targeted students currently in 3rd and 4th grade to receive intensive math support for 4- weeks (3 days/week, Tues -Thurs) over the summer. Learning will focus on foundational math skills integrated into literacy and hands-on engaging explorations. Students will have the opportunity for small group learning
    based on their specific needs and then apply those skills during investigations. Invites have been sent by email to families of qualifying students.
